Complex Aircraft
A Complex Aircraft Endorsement (FAR § 61.31 (e)) is required for aircraft that have
● retractable landing gear
● flaps and
● a controllable pitch propeller.
A Complex Aircraft Endorsement conducted by the
US-Flight Training Center consists of two parts:
Ground School: Discussion of the aircraft systems and emergency procedures
Practical Training: Takeoffs and landings in various configurations, climb and descents, steep turns, slow flight, stalls, simulation of system failures, emergencies.
If the Complex Aircraft is also a High-Performance Aircraft, the training for both endorsements - Complex Aircraft & High-Performance Aircraft - can be combined.
Validity: unlimited (lifelong endorsement)
